In search of his
musical world Nick passed through various styles, such as Jazz
& Rock. Those two major influences quickly led him to piano
& guitar lessons accordingly.
At the end
guitar became a stronger attachment. In the late 90"s when
house music was huge in his hometown Athens, Greece, Nick found
himself in a club that Danny Tenaglia was playing. And that's how
all started. This night determined his musical path. Sexy, Deep,
Dark House would be his guideline from there after. Through dj ing
Nick saw the way to express and share his music instincts in the
best possible way.
Right after he
started discovering house music in every form. Strongly
influenced from the Renaissance & Global Underground
compilations & Dj's, started his often visits in the
metropolis of the kind, London (UK). Those visits helped him
to explore the culture of the scene deeper and at the same time
made his vinyl haunting easier and richer in
choices.
Therefore
began his first attempts of exposing his DJ abilities through
school events and friends parties & later on at local
bars. In 2003 Nick got the chance he was aiming for. A
residency spot at Greece's heavy weight champion of
electronic dance music, Venue Club in Athens, Greece. A club with
global recognition and awards from press giants such as DJ
Mag & Mixmag.
WIthin this
residency that lasted 3 years (2003-2005) Nick had the chance to
join forces with the top Dj's in the globe such as PAUL
OAKENFOLD, PAUL VAN DYK, SASHA, DEEP DISH, ARMIN VAN BUUREN, HERNAN
CATTANEO, STEVE LAWLER, SANDER KLEINENBERG, DANNY HOWELLS, SATOSHI
TOMIIE, TIMO MAAS ..to mention some ... His devotion and
respect for the above artists were shown within his dj
sets.
A journey through various forms of house
always to the level of an accurate opening dj set. Something that
noticed and "awarded" for the likes of Sharam (Deep Dish)
Nick Warren and most of all from South American superstar Hernan
Cattaneo.
Nick became the permanent
opening dj for Hernan all over Greece. A beginning of a long
partnership that goes on till today and an establishment of a
great friendship. Also he toured around Greece in all the
major cities and islands where his music gained many many fans
...
Currently Nick holds a
monthly residency @ Venue Club in Athens, Greece. His weekly mix
every Monday @ www.danceradioglobal.com is getting bigger week by
week and the appreciation from established Dj's turns to a fan
club. Something that you can verify by watching Nick Warren's
opinion in the last TOP 100 DJ poll where he chose Nick for the
"most underestimated dj" in the globe & listen to some of
Sharam comments such as "Nick gives a flow in his dj sets close to
perfection".
In 2006 moved in
New York City. Soon he found himself to the best clubs of the
city . Hernan Cattaneo once again gave him the chance, by
asking him to participate in his Grobar residency. A
residency that completed with great success and brought Nick in new
adventures with Hernan in the U.S soil. During 2006-2009 apart
their common NYC shows including Studio Mezmor and Pacha, Nick did
his opening duties in some of the best spots of U.S clubland such
as Mansion in Miami Florida and Ultrabar in Washington
D.C.
Nick's
achievements soon found place in DJ Mag's reviews with very
flattered comments included. Soon after he had his festival
debut @ Creamfields in Argentina. 65.000 people and a line up full
of legends including Chemical Brothers, Carl Cox and John
Digweed.
Another step in
his upcoming international evolution came with his 2009 WMC
apperance @ Shine in Miami, Florida along with Darren Emerson &
Hernan Cattaneo with whom extended their partnership to a new
continent with their recent common appearance @ Ageha,
Tokyo/Japan.
2010 will find
him releasing his first productions which have already been
previewed and appreciated from most of the above mentioned
artists.
